National Fencing Achievers of Ashoka Universal School, Chandsi

Ms. Shravya Aher  and Ms. Hazel Sanghavi, each bagged the Bronze Medal, at the 62nd School National Fencing Championship, held at Nalgonda, Telangana. Mst.Chirayu Brahmecha was one of the proud participants. This championship was held from 6th of Jan  to 11th Jan, 2017.

ASHOKA JUNIOR COLLEGE STAFF PRACTICE YOGA

Ashoka Junior College staff participated in a Yoga session on the 23rd of October, 2016. The activity was initiated by Joint Secretary, Mr. Shrikant Shukla and Headmistress, Mrs. Renuka Joshi so as to spread awareness of Yoga and its various benefit amongst teachers.

For the session Mrs Devyani Thakur (Yoga Trainer) was invited .She conducted the Training for the ISC educators. The Educators were enthusiastic about the activity as due to teaching and work practices they lead a sedentary life style. It was also a change from the regular schedule making them relax and concentrate on their personal well being.

The training session was attained by Hon’ble Shukla sir as well.  The teachers practiced various asanas like the makrasana, pashimasana, bhujangasana, shishuasna, ardhashirsasana, padmasana. They also practiced the Surya Namaskar which is a set of exercises that revitalises one’s body and refreshes the mind, leaving one feeling energetic throughout the course of the day.

ASHOKA’S ASTRO CLUB ILLUMINATING MINDS WITH A AUSAO* QUIZ CONTEST

Astro Club- an initiative by AUSAO* (Ashoka Universal School Astronomical Observatory) conducted a quiz contest for its Grade XI students. An initial written test was conducted so as to sort the students in teams as per their classes.

The actual quiz competition took place on the 22nd October 2016, under the guidance of Mr. Dilp Thakur. The quiz masters, Mrs. Simar Ahluwalia and Mr. Rahul Shinkar created an exciting aura while asking the questions to participants. Four rounds were conducted, of which the 1st was question and answer round, 2nd was visual round, 3rd was audio-video round and the last was a buzzer round. The students participated enthusiastically. Grade XI B participants, Taha Sinnarwala and Aaisha Ansari took away the winning certificates. The audience and the participants equally enjoyed the contest to the fullest.

Ashoka Universal School, Chandsi shone at Bharat Vikas Inter School group Singing Competition and Won third prize in state level round, which was held at Nigadi Pune, on 1st Oct., 2016. Students achieved first prize in district level, which was held at Nashik, in Sept., 2016, before proceeding to the finale. Participants Keya Jadhav, Parth Birari, Rahul Pathak, Mansi Andhale, Ishita Patil, Shloka Thombre, Revati Ponkshe, Utkarsh Jangada, were trained by Mrs. Prachi Date, Ms. Stella Anthony and Mrs Madhavi Gajbhar, Mr Digambar Sonawane was at Tabala. Music of the song was composed by Mrs. Prachi Date & Mrs Madhavi Gajbhar. School is participating and shining out in the competition since last three consecutive years.

ASHOKA TALENT SHINES AT INTERNATIONAL YOUTH STARTUP CONFERENCE

Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun, one of India’s leading Boys residential school and The Achievers Programme (TAP), Chandigarh organized the “International Youth Startup Conference” on 7th – 8th (Friday – Saturday) October, 2016.

The theme for the Conference was “Innovation and Enterprise”

The conference provided an opportunity for students who can think outside the box and can help in solving some of the problems faced by mankind, by showcasing their Startup Ideas and also by allowing interaction, network and work with similar student leaders of tomorrow.

Nilay Kulkarni, Grade XI student under the guidance of Educator, Mr. Rahul Shinkar, mentored by Hon’ble Chairman Sir- Mr. Ashokji Kataria, Director, Ms. Astha Kataria, Respected Joint Secretary, Mr. Shrikant Shukla and Respected Headmistress, Mrs. Renuka Joshi, participated in this conference. 17 other schools, across India had participated where a team comprising of a student (Nilay Kulkarni) and a teacher (Mr. Shinkar), played a part in presenting an innovative idea.

Nilay spoke on his invention ‘Ashioto’, a venture in counting mass gatherings at a place. The presentation and idea was appreciated and Nilay along with Mr. Shinkar, won the 1st prize for ‘Best Idea’.

This conference aimed to help establish ties that transcend cultural diversity and geographical barriers where Nilay and team outshined, making Ashoka Proud.

ASHOKA SCHOOL GIRL SWIMS TO PRIDE

Kimaya Ahirrao of Ashoka Universal School brought laurels to her school at the ASISC Aquatic National, 2016 Swimming Championship, at the State Level in the Jr. Girls category. While she won the Gold medal in the 50 and 100 m events, she bagged a Bronze in the 200 m event. She also bagged another Bronze medal in the 50 and 200 m swimming event and a Silver medal in the 100m swimming event.

With such bright performances to her credit, it goes without saying, that Kimaya has been selected to participate in National Swimming events. As she now surges forward to participate in bigger events as National championships, we wish her ‘All the Very Best’ for a bright and successful career. May she continue to bring more such laurels for her school and family, and go on to bring laurels for her country.

ASHOKA SCHOOL CONDUCTS PATRIOTIC DANCE COMPETITION

Ashoka School to arouse a sense of patriotism and love for the country in their students conducted an inter-house patriotic dance competition on 22nd September. Students turned into expert dancers as they danced to the beats of music with full energy and enthusiasm. Students of each house performed to their best in order to not only bag the trophy but also display their love for their country.

Students danced on songs like ‘Kandhose Milate hain Kandhe’, ‘Jay Ho’ ,Rang De Basanti, ’Bande Hain Hum Usake’ to convey their love for their country and also arouse in their watching schoolmates and teachers love and dedication for the country.

Ashoka Universal School Gold

Miss Shweta Shimpi from class 12th brought laurels to the Ashoka Universal School (Wadala) by winning Gold Medals in Three categories of Maharashtra State Shooting Championship. She participated in Youth, Junior and Open categories and scored 386/400 in Peep Sight Air Rifle event. Moreover Ayush Ahire from class 10th won silver medal in the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) category. Guided by their Coach Mr. Abhay Kamble, the students made their school and family proud of their achievement.

The winners were lauded by the ISC Headmistress Mrs. Renuka Joshi and Sports HOD Mr. Nagesh Rajmane.

Felicitation achievement of ICSE and ISC board toppers 2015-16

Students came out with flying colours in ISC (Class 12th) and ICSE (Class 10th) examinations, the results of which were declared on Friday. The students of Ashoka Universal School& Ashoka Junior College achieved 100% results in ICSE and ISC examination. The excellent results bear testimony to the high quality of education imparted at the school.

The Ashoka campus on Friday was abuzz with activity. "The Ashoka students have once again extolled the name of their Alma Mater and I heartily congratulate them", said an elated Ashoka Jt Secretary, Shrikant Shukla. The notable feature of this year's result was that out of 125 students that appeared 35 students secured Merit with More than 90% and another 61 students bagged distinctions with marks above 80%.

In ISC (XII) Science, Prashant Lonikar topped in the examination by securing 95.8%marks. He obtained 94 marks in English, 97 in Mathematics,97 in Physics and 97in Chemistry .He Recently brought laurels to the school by qualifying for( KVPY )Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) which is a scholarship program funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India. The second position was bagged by Anusmitha Bagchi with 95.6% marks while the third position was shared by Osman Shaikh with 94%marks. In ISC (XII) Commerce, Pratik Krishnani topped in the examination by securing 89.4% marks.The second position was bagged by Akshay Kochar with 85.4%marks while the third position was secured by.Aditi Thakre with 84.8%

In class X AUS Wadala Branch, Tejas Tiwari topped by bagging 97.67% marks. He secured 94 in English, 99 in Hindi ,97 in Maths,98 In Science, 100 in Computer Applications, and 98 in History, Civics and Geography. Kanishka Bhargav with 96.5% was placed second while Atharva Jhangada bagged the third position with 96%.The fourth position went to Siddharth Rajendra Burad with 95.83 % while Aaisha Ziaurrahman Ansari with 95.67 % was placed fifth.Siddharth Burad achieved a remarkable 100 on 100 in Mathematics.

In class X AUS Chandsi Branch, Pranav Gangurde topped by bagging -94.16% marks. Rutuja Dhadiwal with 93% was placed second while Siddhant Bhatnagar bagged the third position with 87% The fourth position went to Ditisha Sumit Bora with 86.5%while Isha Chandrashekar Patil with 85.33%was placed fifth.
